To learn about the difference between the two degrees types and to decide which is the best option for you, keep reading.

Bachelor of Arts Degree

A B.A. Degree is a four-year college degree program that consists of roughly 120 credits and is a broad interdisciplinary category consisting of subjects related to arts rather than to the physical sciences. Students will have the opportunity to choose more of their overall curriculum when studying for a B.A. Degree, and they will primarily work on enhancing and developing their reading comprehension, critical thinking abilities and written communication.

If you want to study a range of different electives and have a more well-rounded education, then a B.A. is likely the right choice. Some examples of the subjects and majors you can choose from with a B.A. include history, psychology, literature, education and philosophy. This type of degree offers greater flexibility when it comes to selecting a job later on in life after graduation.

Bachelor of Science Degree

Just like a B.A. Degree, a B.S. Degree takes an average of four years to complete and consists of roughly 120 credits. Unlike a B.A., however, a B.S. focuses on scientific study rather than arts and humanities. Some of the many different subjects you might have the opportunity to study while earning your B.S. Degree include physics, chemistry or computer science. With these majors, students have less flexibility when it comes to picking their courses, and typically need to follow a set schedule in order to complete all the classes in order for graduation. Finding a job may be easier after graduation, since students are prepared for one career. However, they have fewer options if their intended industry of work has a decrease in demand for employees.

How to Make Your Decision

For many students, deciding between a B.A. and a B.S. is very simple. If you have a natural ability in areas like reading, writing and foreign languages, you will probably want to pursue a B.A. If, however, you enjoy math and science, you will be a better candidate for a B.S. Degree. Those students who are primarily interested in earning their degrees online may find it easier to earn a B.A. over the Internet thanks to the availability of materials and the lack of laboratory-based classes in these majors. Ultimately, however, students should choose the subject that they are most interested in and can commit to for four years.

Studying Bachelor Degrees Online

Students who opt to earn their bachelor degrees online will have the flexibility to study whenever and wherever they want to, will be able to communicate effortlessly with teaching staff and classmates and can progress through the course at their desired speed. For busy individuals, there is nothing more convenient than being able to pursue an advanced degree without commutes, traffic or set class schedules.

To earn the perfect college degree online, decide between a B.A. and a B.S. and then look for the perfect major through accredited online colleges.
